More than 30 years of building businesses, leading people, and learning lessons worth sharing.
Brent Garrett believes the best business lessons are earned, not borrowed.
Everything he shares from the stage comes from real experiences. The successes, the setbacks, the difficult decisions, and the lessons learned along the way.

People often ask how I got started, or how I ended up speaking about leadership, business, and growth.
The truth is, I never set out to become a speaker.
I simply wanted the freedom to build something of my own.
At 24, I started my first business with a 50-page business plan and $5,000. Looking back, I knew enough to get started, but not enough to know what was ahead. Like many entrepreneurs, I thought hard work would solve every problem. I quickly learned there was much more to building a business than working long hours.
Growing up around people who built things with their hands taught me that success comes from showing up every day, staying consistent, and doing the right thing, even when it's the hard thing. Those early lessons shaped the way I approached business, leadership, and life.
As the business grew, so did the challenges.
I learned that every stage of growth demands something different from you. The skills that help you start a business aren't always the skills needed to grow one. I made good decisions, and I made mistakes. Looking back, I learned as much from the difficult seasons as I did from the successful ones.
One lesson changed everything.
If you don't build systems that work, you become the system.
That realization changed how I led people, built teams, and thought about growth. I began focusing less on doing everything myself and more on creating a business that could succeed because of its people, not because it depended on one person.
Over the years, I had the opportunity to build, grow, and sell my first company to a Fortune 300 organization. Since then, I've started and led other businesses, and I'm still learning every day. Business has a way of keeping you humble if you're paying attention.
Today, my wife, Jeni, and I own Sirius Plumbing and Air Conditioning. We built the company around a simple mission, We Make Lives Better.
Those four words guide every decision we make. They remind us that success isn't measured only by revenue or growth. It's measured by how we care for our team, serve our customers, support our partners, and strengthen our community.
One of the things I'm most proud of isn't a business milestone. It's the leadership team we've built. They lead with integrity, take ownership, and continue moving the company forward every day. Because of them, I have the freedom to focus on growth, spend time with my family, enjoy the hobbies I love, and invest in helping other people.

That freedom also gave me the opportunity to give back.
Today, I serve on the Arkansas Tech University Foundation Board, mentor students at my alma mater, and support organizations including the Hendrick Scholarship Foundation and The Warren Center.
Jeni and I also volunteer with Canine Companions for Independence (CCI), helping raise future service dogs that make a lasting difference in people's lives.
Those experiences continue to remind me that leadership isn't about position. It's about serving others and creating opportunities that outlast you.
Along the way, I also discovered that I enjoy writing almost as much as I enjoy speaking.
My book, 30 Days to a Better Business, was written to share practical lessons from decades of building businesses, leading teams, and learning through experience.
Jeni and I are also working on our next book, 30 Days to a Better Marriage, which explores how entrepreneurs can strengthen both their businesses and their relationships.

So why do I speak?
Because I believe the best lessons are meant to be shared.
Whether I'm speaking to business owners, leadership teams, employees, students, or future entrepreneurs, my goal isn't to impress an audience. It's to leave them with something useful. One idea. One perspective. One lesson they can apply when they return to work, lead their team, or face their next challenge.
If my journey has taught me anything, it's this.
Success isn't built overnight. It's built through the choices we make, the people we invest in, and the willingness to keep learning.
If you're looking for someone to encourage your audience, challenge their thinking, and share practical lessons grounded in real experience, I'd be honored to be part of the conversation.
I hope our paths cross soon.
Make it a great day,
